Intro
What is ENS domain?
The Ethereum Name Service (ENS) is a distributed, open, and extensible naming system based on the Ethereum blockchain. It is the blockchain equivalent to the Domain Name System (DNS) that assigns addresses on the internet. Just as the DNS maps simple website names to their IP addresses, the ENS maps human-readable names like 'alice.eth' to machine-readable identifiers to public Ethereum addresses.
Why are names registered as hashes?
Hashes provide a fixed length identifier that can easily be passed around between contracts with fixed overhead and no issues passing around variable-length strings.
Task
Go to https://app.ens.domains/ and connect your wallet. Find an available name that you like and register it to your account. Names are paid by year and you can choose how long you want to register it for. Keep in mind that names with only 3 or 4 characters have 'premium' pricing and there's no character limit.
